2 hour snooze

Good Morning/noon. I pressed snooze for 2 hours this morning. That means for 2 hours every 10 minutes I reaced over and pushed the snooze button! HA!! That's right. 12 times! I wanted to get up and work out and get it done for the day, but when my alarm started going off I immediately changed my mind. I kept waking up looking at the clock and deciding to wake up in another 1/2 hour. That 1/2 hour turned into 2 hours and I finally got out of bed at 6:30, leaving me no time to workout.
Dave and I's work schedules are pretty similar, however he works more hours (by choice). He gets up about 4:30 and works until 3:00-3:00. I get up anywhere from 5-6:30 depending on my schedule for the day. I usually work until 3:00 or 3:30 too. We really like this schedule because we get off of work so early! We do end up going to be much earlier 9:30ish, but it works out great for us.
I used to workout every morning at 5:00am and then get to work about 7:00am, but when I finished my personal training sessions I started working out after work with Dave. The change up was really nice. I was still waking up really early but not having to work out….at least not until after work. It felt really nice! Now that I've been working out after work for the past 2 months, I'm not sure which one I like better. I keep thinking I'd like to do it in the morning, but now, every time I try to get up in the morning I unconsciously decide that I'd rather do it after work. ha!
Today I 'm going to comprimise between the two. I brought my laptop and gym clothes to work and am going to get in a workout at work. We have a small gym here at work…it is the size of a coat closet. They have a treadmill, a bike and an elliptical and some hand weights. I usually HATE working out here because there is only so much you can do, and only so much room. Using the Shred DVD, I think I'll have everything I need in that closet of a gym to get it done!
I'm going to head over there right now and get in a workout. (I'll wait to post this until i'm back so I can post a pic of the gym).
(I did level three yesterday and it was awesome!) I really liked it. It was super hard. My arms and legs were burning and I was sweating up a storm. I've been told that level 2 is just as hard so I am going to test that out right now!
Working out in the "closet" is very rare thing for me. I really hate working out at work, but since I was ridiculous and pushed snooze for 2 hours and since I have other plans after work, I really have no choice. Closet work out it is!
What the WHAT! I just got back from the gym aka closet .I went to the bathroom changed into my workout closes and then went down to the gym. When I opened the door there were three cubicles where they gym used to be. WHAT!!?? They moved the gym I went and talked to the front desk people and they said they had to get rid of the gym to accommodatenew people. WHAT! How lame is that! I guess I will not be working out at work today. That's what I get for not following through with my morning plans right?! lol. I will try to fit it in later today, if not I'll have to take today as a rest day!
I think it's important that we work out at the right time. That right time is the time that works best for each of us individually. For some the morning is the ONLY way to go. And for others, morning workouts are horrible and evenings/afternoons are perfect! It does not matter when you workout or where, what matters is that you are doing it. You will get just as good of a workout in the morning as you do in the evening/afternoon as long as you are dedicated and push yourself! It's important to do what is best for you and your body!! With that being said…I'm curious as to when you work out and why? Morning, afternoon, evening?
Do you prefer working out in the morning or the evening? Is it choice or forced by schedule?
Do you ever work out at work?

Okay, I'm really interested…what do you do for work?! I would LOVE to workout at work, but it's not really an option as a 3rd grade teacher.
I am strictly a morning work-outer. I can't even fathom coming home after 12 hours at school and trying to get my energy up for a butt kicking session.
Also, I did level 2 of the Shred this morning and it totally kicked my but. I have horrible upper body strength, and my were (still are!!) SO jelly-like and wobbly.

OH boy! I just went thru all this this summer when I got my treadmill.
long story short..we have an office gym too and when I came back full full time in May I started using the gym. started jogging/walking and a good pilates stretch afterwards…LOVED it and HATED IT. LOVED getting my workout done…HATED it when I had to do a coin toss between my workout and say errands or god forbid social time.
but I was getting 3-4 days a week of consistant cardio…but my off days at home were hard bc of weather or it being night time or whatever.
so we finally got the treadmill.
and I finally don't have to do the office gym (which sucks btw)
and it took me months to figure out how to change my routine. am or pm…I love am but i can't get out of bed an hour earlier so I jog at night after JJ goes to bed. GAH
it's taken over 2 months to get a regular thing down but I am so close.
come home, have a green smoothie (not dinner) play with baby…baby goes to bed…JOG/WALK shower and chill.
but finding the umph to get up and jog at 9 pm is the toughest part.
I do my yoga first thing right out of bed in the am!
so that's it (for now)

I am definitely an evening workout girl! I'm a morning person, but use all that energy to come into work. Plus, I am completely addicted to Zumba and all of the classes around here are in the evening, which works great for me! The only time it becomes a challenge is when there is some crisis at work and I end up having to work the entire evening either in the office or at home and just can't fit in a workout. Those are the days I wish I worked out in the morning!

I'm definitely a morning workout girl – problem is, I can't get out of bed early enough, haha! So, as of right now – I get up at 6:00am, work until 6:00pm, drive home (which takes an hour), go to the gym, get home by 8:30. Then by the time I eat dinner, aaak! It's already 9 or 9:30!
Needless to say – I'm not thrilled with my current schedule. As soon as I can get my booty into a new job, I'm going to go back to working out in the morning. However, I'm trying to train myself to start getting up earlier.
Unfortunately, the only workout I can get at work is "mall walking" with the old people, lol!

Now that is dedication! Wow…I can honestly say I don't think i'd do it if that was my schedule. You are seriously an example to all of us! Way to go! You are a trooper! That motivated me so much to hear how important it is to you and that you still make time after a long day! way to go!!

I work out first thing. It usually is preference but today it felt completely like I had no choice and I hated that.
Snoozing that many times takes dedication to the alarm! Haha. Doing it once and I get annoyed by the moving around

2 hours? haha! that's awesome though! my fav time to workout is mid-morning/early afternoon but that's not to good for my schedule. i would absolutely never find motivation to run after my classes so mornings it is! but once im up and going i love it and it makes me feel so awesome to be "sitting on" a workout

I definitely prefer working out in the morning. In the afternoon it's just harder to motivate myself to exercise!

I am definitely a morning exerciser! I lose all motivation later in the day, and I love to just come home at the end of the day. Before I went back to school full-time, I would get up at 4 and was at the gym at 5am to workout before work. I am loving my new schedule as a student!

We have a small gym at work, too…but bigger than a closet!! I work out at lunch 4 days a week because I'm not an early morning person period and I have no time after work. This has worked well for me for the past 3 years!
PS: Sorry to hear about your work "gym"!
