Day 5 Crossfit

EEEKKKKK!!!! CrossFit day 5. Yesterdays work out was brutal! It was harder than any of the days by far! I know I keep saying this but its true, we were dying.

When we got home we both felt like we could curl up in bed and go to sleep forever. We were so tired! I felt like i'd worked out for hours on end.  I made us a protein packed dinner (Spaghetti with grillers meat and garlic toast over 40 grams protein) we ate it faster than you can imagine. It was like my body was a vacuum, I inhaled that pasta. My body must have really needed some nourishment!  We crashed and watched some TV and I fell asleep on the couch.  Ok, so here's what we cranked out:

Does that sound hard? I didn't sound like it was going to be too tough, but it surprised really me! Guess what? I know its only been six days since we started this Crossfit challenge, but I am already noticing a difference in my body. Seriously!? Its only been 6 days!

PS: I still have not gotten any good advice on how to strengthen my core for running. Can't anyone help?? PRETTY PLEASE!!

MAN that sounds like a rough workout! I haven't worked out that hard since I had a trainer over a year ago. Makes me tired just thinking about it!

I LOVE my core ball! Have you tried using it for core strengthening? I do a ton of different crunches on that thing – sides, front, back! It is deceptively easy, but I always feel it the next day!

that sounds so tough! i'm in awe that you're still motivated after how hard these sound haha

i just do the standard for core: plank, bicycle, row, v-ups, twists. i have a pretty strong core but am always looking for better ways to challenge myself so if you find something out let me know ;)

and re: hunger. i'm usually only really hungry after working out if its the morning and i haven't eaten yet (duh) and my go-to food is a pb & banana sandwich. usually after running in the pm my appetite is killed though so i try to drink to refuel

I don't know if this would help for running, but it definatly worked my core. in the newest Self magazine on the other side there is a great ab workout. you don't need any equimpment and it works very well. hope that helps.

I am glad you found me! I really like your blog. To answer your question, my favorite post hard workout food is eggs. I don't know if that's weird, but I just love a good scrambled egg after a long run or hard workout!
