Project Feed Me

I got a wonderful email this morning from Melinda.  Check it out:

Hi Natalie!

I thought I would send you a quick email to let you know what an impact your idea for Project Feed Me has had. As I had said in an email before Christmas….we are going to continue the project all year here….and our local paper heard about what we are doing and they did an article which is in today's paper….Thanks again for the great idea!

PFM sista'n law

How cute is that?  This is my sister Erin and my  niece Kamryn (kam kam).  They are a few of my favorite people!

ERIN PFM Pic (2)
I love this picture! What a cute idea to spread it across the fireplace.  Erin is SO creative. To the point where you have to realize you will never be able to do ANYTHING as cute as her and just accept it and not let it make you feel bad. lol, but seriously!  She married my brother 10 years ago and ever since they started dating I considered her my real sister. She has been there through all of my unhealthy eating and exercise past, trying to help me change, giving me advice and suggestions (that I never took). I complained to her about weight loss, exercise and much much more throughout the years. She was always given me wonderful advice and tried to point me in the right direction. Unfortunately, I never applied the things she suggested. I just went about my unhealthy way, unhappy and unhealthy. We've talked in recent moths about the healthy changes I have made and concluded that before I was able to apply any healthy advice or make any changes, I had to be ready. I had to realize that I needed to make changes and make them for the right reasons. She has helped me so much along this journey and is a great example of someone who lives a healthy, balanced and happy life. Plus, she is my go to girl for decorating of all kinds! Did I mention she is the fashion queen too? ya, she's pretty much perfect!  Thanks so much for supporting and participating in PFM!  Love ya! ps…happy birthday kam kam!

Holy moly! I can't believe it's been seven weeks since we started..can you?  By now we should all have at least 14 cans of food! How awesome is that.  That means between all of us we have a minimum of  2296 cans of food. Are you kidding me!!?? How awesome is that!!??

Recommended food item week #7: 2 Cans of Fruit

cannedPineappleTidbits

canned-pears

I choose pineapple and Pears, because they are my favorite. You can pick any fruits you would like.  Feel free to purchase a many as your budget will allow 1,2,10! Stop and think about that soda, coffee, candy or whatever it may be that you spend an extra $1-5 dollars on in a week…can you go without it this week and instead give something better to someone in need? I know I can.

Thank you all for your participation! I am so proud of everyone for taking the time and money to be a part of Project Feed Me.  I am so glad we could all do this together!!

Since it is thanksgiving I thought it would be fun to share our favorite thanksgiving food and where we will be having thanksgiving this Thursday.  I asked Dave his favorite thanksgiving food and he said CRAB. What? He is not a big fan of thanksgiving food. Its not his thing. My favorite thanksgiving food is candied yams.  My uncle makes this recipe that will make you gain 5lbs just looking at it, but oh my it is the best thing you have ever tasted.

Where will you be having thanksgiving this year and what is your favorite thanksgiving food??

Only the best product known to man!

peanut butter

Recommended Food Item Week 5: Peanut butter

I realize that peanut butter is a bit more expensive than some of the past items. I will leave up to you to decide if you would like to purchase 2 bottles of Peanut Butter or just one.  Anything is better than nothing, so take a look at your budget and if you can work in 2 bottles great, if not just buy one and don't sweat it! You can pick any brand, any size, any flavor…go to town!

I appreciate all of your efforts this week! There were so many bloggers out there who talked about PFM on their blogs and really got a lot of new people interested.  We obviously did not hit the goal of doubling the number of members, BUT we did increase in size, so that is all that matters! More people participating = more food for those in need!  AWESOME!

Most of you should have quite the pile of food building up now that we are on week 5. I'd love to see a picture of it! My sister told me she has a special place that she puts all of her PFM food and I'm sure you do too. Send me the pictures pretty pretty please!!

Thank you again for all of your efforts! Project Feed Me would not be possible with out YOU!

Hope you all had a fun, safe, Happy Halloween! I'm so excited to start week 4 of Project Feed Me.  I am overwhelmed by your love and support.  Your willingness to help and give back is so wonderful! I wish all the world could be more like you!  Thank you for taking the time and money to help those in need.  It is the most important thing we can do in our life and will make us become better, stronger, more loving people.  Giving service is a gift not just to the receiver.

Recommended Food Item Week #4:
2 Boxed Meals

These two boxes can be any box meal of your choice.  I tried to chose a meal that had the most protein.  Feel free to choose the boxed meals of your choice!

HamburgerHelperL1

Project Feed Me continues to grow each week and its all thanks to you and your sweet efforts! I would like to share a message about service with you. This message was given by the Prophet of the LDS church. I listened to it on TV a month ago and loved it's message. I have been wanting to share it with the Project Feed Me Members ever since I heard it.  Giving of our service to others is the number one key to happiness in this life.  No matter what religion, faith, or beliefs you have, I challenge you read this message

The following is a song regarding service, read the words….

Have I done any good in the world today?
Have I helped anyone in need?
Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad?
If not, I have failed indeed.
Has anyone’s burden been lighter today
Because I was willing to share?
Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way?
When they needed my help was I there?

Project Feed Me Fun/Baby Steps to Body Love
There are currently 151 members of Project Feed Me. This week I challenge each of you to get one more person committed and registered to Project Feed Me.  If each of us takes this challenge to get one more person to participate, we can double the amount of participants in just one short week. Do not take this challenge light heatedly. Take some of your time and energy to help serve those in need. Not only will you be helping those in need, you will be giving someone else an opportunity to serve, which will enrich their life! What an amazing gift!
Thank you all for your love and support! Have a wonderful week!

QA:
Will you commit to get one more person involved?

Jac and Cheese!
Jac and CheeseI mean Mac and Cheese!

This is my beautiful sister Jacqueline aka Jac.  When I thought about what picture to post this week related to mac and cheese, I instantly rhymed (? not sure why) and thought of Jac…get it jac/mac, ya they rhyme! Jac is my favorite! She is sweet, kind, loving, giving and always there for me! She is so awesome and now you are all lucky enough to know her!  She was so sweet to agree to take these pictures.  She was hanging out with us last night watching a football game and was in her comfies no make up and without hesitation she agreed to let me take her picture!  She told me that she didn't care if she didn't have make up because "Make up is not what makes you beautiful!" You got that right sister!!  You can read more about the my cute sister here.

Recommended Food Item Week #3: Macaroni and Cheese
Jac and Cheese twoNotice anything CRAZY in the background of this picture? That is only the BEGINING of my  mom's crazy Halloween Decorations for our Party this Friday!

Ok back on subject: I bought these two items at Walmart. (sorry if you don't like Walmart, I do).

I want to shed some light on a few things.  Project Feed Me now has 142 members.  Last week project feed me grew by 22 members!  Thanks to YOU!  These numbers will only continue to grow as you continue to get the word out and make sure people are following through!  We all know how easy the Project is which makes it all the better!

With the current 142 members we will be donating a minimum of 3000 meals.  My heart swells when I think about it.  Imagine your chili, tuna fish and mac and cheese being eaten by someone less fortunate who may not have eaten that day if it weren't for you.  The $2 (give or take) that you spend on your items will give hope to someone in need.

Thank you all for our continuing efforts and support!  Much Love!  Here's to week three!!

Project Feed Me Fun
Since this weekend is Halloween, I thought it was only appropriate to have the Project Feed Me Fun be Halloween related. I challenge all of you to write about your most memorable Halloween experience. It can be from any year of your life, just pick your favorite, post it for everyone…and somewhere in your post mention Project Feed Me and link your readers to this page.  It will be a fun post to read and a great way to get people aware of Project Feed Me!

Baby Steps Update
Last week I made a goal to take some time to pamper myself and take a long hot bath.  I did it! Here is my proof:
Candles, Toast, Juice and some reading material. It was very nice and relaxing. It felt great t0 follow through with my "baby steps goal" and show myself some love!
Did you accomplish your baby step this week?

Baby Step for this week:  Attend a Yoga class at the gym (I've never been to one at my gym)

QA:
Do you love Halloween or is it just my family that thinks it is SO FUN?
What are you being for Halloween?

turtle-tuna1MEEOOWW!!!

Turtle asked if she could participate in Project Feed Me this week. Could you say no to this little face?  Me either!!

Recommended Food Item Week 2: Two can's of Tuna Fish (Meeow)

tunaa
One can of this tuna fish cost me $1.06. I picked it up in a hurry this weekend so I wasn't able to shop out any sale prices. I'm pretty sure you can find this a lot cheaper. But still $1.06 is great! I decided to purchase quite a few of these since they were so inexpensive! Feel free to do what works best for you! You can chose any brand and any size!

Project Feed Me is spreading like wild fire and we are just starting week two!  There are now over 120 members in 28 different states and 3 different countries! WOO HOO!

I encourage you to keep talking to your friends and family and commit them to participating! It does not matter if we are in the second week or ninth week, every little bit helps! Feel free to send your pictures with your cans of food throughout the entire project. It doesn't have to just be pictures of  chili from week one! I think it will be fun to see pictures from people participating across the country!

Project Feed Me Fun

Jenny from Color Hungry started and AWESOME challenge that I am so excited to take part in.  Its called "baby steps to body love."  What's it all about? Take a look at this video clip.

What About Bob Clip @ Yahoo! Video

Jenny is challenging her self and others to start loving our bodies, one baby step at a time.  The idea is to take baby steps each week to love yourself and your body. Set small goals for yourself each week and through those small goals and baby steps learn to love yourself inside and out. Last week Jenny challenged herself to attend a yoga class and also to entertain only positive thoughts about herself and her body while attending the class! AWESOME!

This week, I am going to treat myself to a long bath.  I love baths and love how relaxing they make me feel, but I never make time for them. This week I am going to show myself love by taking a long, hot bath!! I think that taking time for yourself and treating yourself right is super important part in loving yourself. It helps both mentally and physically.

What baby step will you take this week???

It's "Chili" out here!!!

south weber chilibigger

Good Morning!!!  Today is day one of  Project Feed Me! I couldn't be more excited! I am overwhelmed by your support and excitement!
Thank you for taking the time to give back to those in need!!

Now, without further ado…….

Recommended food item
Week 1: Two cans of chili

Chili Can2

You can buy any brand, any size, from any store!  I bought these two can's of Chili for $2.38 at my local grocery store. Together these two can's of chili weigh 2lb 6oz. Or (2.375 lbs).

chili weigh2t

Did you know that 1.28lbs of food is enough to feed one person one meal?  With these two cans of Chili two people will be fed.

As of Today, 72 people have signed up to participate in Project feed Me.  If all 72 members buy the minimum of just 2 cans of Chili,  we will have provided 144 meals in one week.  That means, that this week alone, we will give 48 people an entire days worth of food. WOW! Does that make your heart swell? Best thing is, this is just the beginning.  It will only get bigger and better from here. Let's all do our part to get more people to participate and help kick this project into high gear!!

How many people will we feed together? Hundreds? Thousands? Millions? It is up to you.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of Project Feed Me. Millions of people are praying each day for someone to take away their sufferings. You are an answer to their prayers.

FYI:  Each week I am going to do a Project Feed Me Fun Challenge, I'd love for you to participate!!!

Project Feed Me Fun

I thought it would be so fun to show others how many people all over the nation are taking part in Project Feed Me. This week, I challenge you to take a picture of yourself with your two cans of food at any place that represents your area. It can be a road sign, a map, a billboard, a street sign, it can be anything or place that shows where you are from. (Be creative!) The best sign I could find on short notice was the "South Weber Posse Grounds." And since I live in South Weber, I thought it would do just fine! Once you take your pictures, send them to me at nono2yoyo@gmail.com . I will then feature your pictures on my blog throughout the week. It will be so FUN to see all the different places and people across the country that are participating in project feed me. It will also give you something fun to post about on your own blog to keep your readers up to date with your project feed me efforts!

To tell you friends and family about the recommended food item send them the following link:

If you are participating in Project Feed Me and have not yet registered please make sure to get registered. This is the only way for me to track our progress!
