the love of new things
I went shopping yesterday and about 1/2 or more of the food I bought I have never bought or tried before in my life! It was exciting. I was a bit overwhelmed at the grocery store trying to find the right things and not pick the wrong things. I took deep breaths and realized I didn't have to get it perfect and that any changes I make are in the right direction. I was also really worried I was going to spend WAY too much money, I had a number in my head that I thought it would add up to and as I kept throwing things in the cart I began to get worried. When I finished checking out I was INCREDIBLY surprised to find that it was 1/2 as much as I thought it would be! I was thrilled!!
Here are some of the new foods I picked up!
Here is a list of all the foods I've never tried or purchased before:
Sprouted Bread
Cous Cous
White Beans
Black Eyed Peas
Long Grin Brown Rice
Basmati Rice
Coconut
Barley
Avocado
Almond Milk
Raw Almonds
Whole Wheat Pitas
Red Pears
Rolled Oats
Whole Wheat Pasta
Greek Yogurt ( holy crap this stuff is AMAZING)
There may be much more, but that is all I can think of right now. I wasn't able to find ALOT of the things I was looking for at the local grocery store. I was a little bummed because I didn't want to make a special trip down town (30 min away).
After shopping Dave and I both went to the gym and got in a sweaty workout. I can't tell you HOW GOOD I FELT. SO SO GOOD! I took my Little Booky with me and read as I chugged away on the elliptical. I was pushing so hard and it felt SO great! Here are my stats:
Elliptical: 35 Minutes (Dave didn't want to stay an an entire hour)
Abs (Whiddle Middle) :10 minutes
Arms: 2 sets of 12 triceps dips
My arms were burning by the end! The ab workout totally works your arms too, which is great…I love two in ones!!
After the gym we walked to the grocery store that is connected to the gym and we passed by a store that intrigued me. On the way out of the grocery store we decided to stop in the store. It was a health store, with ALL THE FOODS I EVER NEEDED IN IT! It had every single thing on my list! I was SO SO SO HAPPY! I went to town. We spent a lot of money, but i got a lot of things that will last me a very long time. I have never tried all most all of these things.
Take a look…
I asked so many questions while I was at the health food store. The lady really helped me a lot. Before I left I asked her if they ever do any informational classes. She told me the did not do any classes, but the owner of the store does free nutritional counseling! WHAT!! FREE? Yes that is right. I gave the lady my name and number and with in 30 minutes of leaving the sore, she called! I wasn't able to pick up the phone..(cus It was lost at the time), but I am going to give her a call this morning! HOW EXCITING!!
As soon as I got home, I opened all of my new products and gave each one a taste. I have been reading for months about all of these products, so you can imagine my excitement to try them!
Want a review? You're getting one!
Agave: This is so yummy. I love this stuff. I can't believe I never knew it existed! It is so much better than honey or any other sweetener for that matter!!
Brown Rice Syrup: This had an odd taste by itself. It was sweet but kinda weird. I can see this tasting really good when cooking or mixing it with something else.
Flax Seed: I had to get quite a few in my mouth to really taste them. Have you ever picked a piece of grass and bitten on the white at the bottom? That is what flax seeds taste like to me…I Like them!
Chia Seed: I don't think these really have a taste (which is great because you can add them to anything!)
Chunky Almond Butter: I never liked chunky peanut butter, but this rocks! I had a slice of bread with a bit of almond butter and a drizzle of agave…oh my it was so good!
Coconut Oil: I think this might be my favorite. It smells and even tastes so good! I rubbed in on my arms and dave rubbed it on his elbows (He has irritation on his elbows) we want to see if it helps! I can't wait to use this stuff!
Sunflower Seeds: I have had these before, and I love them. I am going to use them in my granola bars and many other things!
Rice Chips: Long ago when Dave and I first started dating he used to eat these. I remember how much I LOVED them, but have not had them since then. We tore these open as soon as we got home. Yum these are goooouuud!
Almond Milk: I didn't get to use the almond milk yet, but I'll let ya know what I think
Peppermint Oil: Dave picked up some peppermint oil. Someone at his works rubs a bit of this on their fan and it fills the room with peppermint smells. He went to town on my car air vents and different places throughout the house. I LOVE the smell of peppermint…(but I do not like the taste!)
I was seriously so happy and excited last night. I LOVED all of my new purchases and I can't wait to use them all! I felt so great about what I had found and the HUGE change I had made to our grocery items! I was also so excited because last night I made my first Cous Cous! It was tasty tasty! I even took a picture of it cus I was so proud of myself (not that its hard at all) but I was just super excited!!
Since I had never made it before I didn't really know what it would taste like or what to do with it. I grilled up some mushrooms and red peppers and then stuffed the pitas with the veggies, cous cous and then topped it off with some sauce. It was great! I was seriously glowing because I was so proud of myself, just all together for trying. ha! Dave was laughing at me because I was basically skipping around the house because I was so excited!
Ok so now its time that I call on you for help. I need YOUR recipes. You kinda have an idea of what I have on hand (I have a bunch of other stuff I didn't take pictures of too, so don't worry) I'll also be getting more this weekend. So from the bottom of my heart, I'm asking you to leave me a comment with your favorite (Easy…i'm just a beginner) recipe? I'd love to get your best of best recipe/s and give them a whirl! I am trying to get Dave on board with everything and he is being SO WONDERFUL, but I know if I keep giving him yummy food, he will start to enjoy foods that are better for him and as we change certain things, it will be easier for him. I need your help! I am going to look around today and try and find some recipes, but I think the best ones will come from you! So, think about your favorite recipe, then leave me a comment with it! Thank you thank you! I can't wait to get them!!
Sweaty Sweat

Look what I got in the mail yesterday! Prescription for Dietary Wellness. Yippe! This was my first piece of mail at our new house…only fitting that it was a book I am super excited to read. Cindy told me I HAD to get this book, so like a good little girl, I obeyed and ordered it right away! I can't wait to get started. When I finish this post its scriptures and then dietary wellness time! I'm sure this book with be referenced in many posts to come!!
I STILL have not gone shopping, but am planning a run to the store this afternoon! I also have a few other thing up my sleeve for later today. Last night I declared to Dave that I WAS SICK OF NOT WORKING OUT…and I needed to get exercise, busy or not! My plan is to head to the gym after work each day. Since my foot is still bothering me I will do the ellipticalor the bike and then add on 15-20 minutes of strength. I'm feeling super out of shape. I'm even noticing a difference in the way I look….boo hoo! I must admit my exercise has been MIA since my foot and getting ready to move. That combined with eating out WAY TOO MUCH is making me feel blah!!. I may just be feeling this way because I've been less active (exercise wise), but whatever it is, I don't like the way I feel…so I'm going to change it. Simple as that.
When I used to feel like this in the past, I would make myself feel even worse by dwelling on the negative and all of my mistakes. I would end up eatting worse and avoid exercise all together. Makes no sense right? I know..but its just how I did it.
I CAN NOT TELL YOU how thankful I am that that has changed. Yesterday when I had a moment to breath and stop and think about how I have been feeling the past few days, it made me motivated to make myself feel better and get back on track. I want to feel stronger, healthier and in better shape, which also motivates me to eat better (no more fast food) and MAKE TIME for exercise. Now that we are moved in the BIG STRESS is behind us, so making time to exercise seems a lot more feasible and desirable!
So, today I brought my gym clothes with me and plan on hitting up the gym before I head home.
Here is my plan:
45 min Elliptical
15 min upper body
6-10 min Widdle my middle
Yay! I can't wait to sweat it out! I have totally missed sweating. Of course moving was a lot of work and caused me to have sweat pits (ha), but that is not the kind of sweating I'm talking about. I'm talking about full on sweat dripping all over, wipe it off your face with your arm kind of sweat. The gross kind! I'm craving it big time! At 9:00pm last night I almost popped in a workout DVD because I was wanting to do something so bad. I realized that it was not the best time since we were getting ready for bed. I practiced "MODERATION" by realizing that it would be ok if I waited until tomorrow. FLASHBACK: (I remember times where I layed in my bed anticipating the next days workout and feeling guilty about something I did or didn't do that day. I would actually get out of bed and go down stairs and workout…at crazy hours)….I look back on that and think…oh you poor little thing. I also think… YOU WERE CRAZY! lol. But really MODERATION is important. I had already done my Whiddle My Middle exercises and since it was time for bed I declined my urge to workout at such a late hour!
(9pm…yes that is late for us who get up in the 4am hour)
Speaking of Moderation…dave said something to me a while back when we were doing Crossfit that I have to keep reminding myself of. We had decided to take a day off and I was stressed about it because I had committed to 30 days and was planning on blogging about it that day and was also planning on the exercise. He looked and me and said Nat, this is our life, this is not a fitness competition, nor your blog, it is ok if we take a day off. Geeze Louise, I thought to myself!! He was so right. How silly it was that I was worried about taking the day off! It is not a competition, no one is judging, no one actually really cares what I do or don't do! I was so glad he reminded me that this is my life and living it in moderation is KEY to my happiness! I refer back to that statement often!
This post is pretty random. I'm just letting out some thoughts. Thanks for listening! Here is to moderation and a really sweaty workout!!
(Check out my fitness page…I am going to TRY and log my daily fitness!!)

Shred Day 3
Shred Day 3, Level

You were right!! Level #2 is just as intense as level #3. My arms (mostly shoulders) are still fatigued and sore. I could barley hold my arm up to put on my mascara this morning. I seriously had to take tiny breaks to give my shoulder a rest…I can't believe that just 20 minutes can fatigue your muscles so much…love it! Stephanie warned me about the squats and army raises (chest flys)….I didn't know what I was in for…all I can say is OUCH. They hurt so freaking bad. I have been using 5lb weights throughout each workout, but after the first set of those baby's combined with the shoulder press, leg extension immediately afterwards, I dropped the 5lbs and went down to 3lbs. Even the 3lbs were killing me…killing me! I opened the basement window in hopes that the FREEZING cold weather would make the room seem cooler, didn't happen. I was hot as ever and sweating like crazy! The workout was awesome!
I loved the Cardio too! I really like doing the double jump rope. It's fun to pretend like I'm on a trampoline and see how high I can get. When I visualize this my calf's work so much harder and get so fatigued…that move works so many body parts I love it! I also loved the plank jumps. If you focus on holding your tummy in tight and keeping your body squared over our shoulders you are working your shoulders, triceps, biceps, chest, stomach and inner and outer thighs! THAT IS WHAT I LIKE! An all in one move!!
The situps were great too! Does anyone else like that burning feeling in their stomach while doing sittups? Am I sick to acutally like that pain?
Now that I know that level 2 and 3 are equally intense, I am going to rotate back and forth between the two. This way I will work out different areas of my body every other day and I won't get bored doing the same thing. Since I have now done levels 1-3 I don't plan on doing a full report of each workout everyday….I think it would get boring since the workouts are the same over and over.
I am SUPER excited that YOU (for those of you that have) have joined in and are doing it with me (us)! There are now 9 people doing the Shred! I love you for joining in and making it more fun! I feel motivated and excited that we are doing it together! Those of you who aren't doing the Shred, don't feel left out or get bored with all the Shred talk going on here….I want to hear about what you are doing and what you like/dislike about your workouts…I can't tell you how much I love all of your feed back and suggestions and ideas and everything. It is SO much fun to hear from you guys and learn what makes you tick and how you live your life! I seriously love you!
I am taking today as an rest day from the Shred because GUESS WHAT? My sister COURTNEY and her sweet little family came into town last night! I am so excited they are here! I came into work at 5am so I could get off early and spend the day with them! I am only going to work until 12:00pm (yay!). My parents always fly my sister and her family to Utah for our annual Halloween party. They usually come in on Wednesday and stay through the weekend! The festivities go on the entire weekend….its a blast! Needless to say, I will not be doing the Shred today after work and was not willing to get up at 4:00am this morning to make it happen either! Tomorrow, Courtney and I are going to go to a Yoga class in the morning. I set this as my weekly goal for "Baby Steps to Body Love" I intend on completing it! I've only been to 3-4 yoga classes ever and my sister has never been…I'm super excited!
I can't believe its 5:30am and I am so awake, alert and HAPPY! I am super excited about the weekend and super pumped about life. So many fun things going on right now!! What fun things you say?……..I'll fill you in shortly!!
-Cardio (running, kick boxing, eliptical, swimming, etc)?
-Yoga (what type) ?
-Strength Training (Free weights, organized program, circut training, etc)?
Shred Day 2 Level 3
Shred Day 2

Success! I jumped right into level three and loved it! It was GREAT! I was grunting and squeeling and sweating just the way I like! My arms were on fire, and my legs were burning! It gave me just what I was looking for and in 25 short minutes!
The plyometic lunges were so hard. I've never done them like that before and my legs were burning. Dave got home 10 minutes into the workout and sat and watched me the entire time. ( He goes through spurts where he is super motivated to exercise and then not intersted at all) this week, he's not intersted! Lucky for him his muscles are huge and he is in great shape all the time!
I liked the floor work in level three with the plank exercises and the leg lifts. I also enjoyed the abs in level 3. They were much more challenging.
All in all the workout was great! Today (if I can fit it in) I am going to try level 2, as i've heard it is just as hard as level 3. Jillian is not bugging me yet, but after another 27 times, she might start to get on my nerves. Oh well I can handle it, a toned body does not come for free right!!???
If you are contemplating joining in and doing the Shred with me….don't think about it anymore, jump on bored and get started. I plan on doing the shred 5x a week for 6 weeks, which will equal 30 days. I will take 1-2 rest days each week. Sunday is always my guaranteed rest day, and then I'll vary the other day throughout the week if I choose to take it. You can take rest days whenever works best for you! I think there are a total of 6 people who have started doing the shred this week….join us!! I plan on taking my measurements this week too..but I keep forgetting. I am going to make an effort to do it tonight. I am also going to take some before pics. You don't have to do this if you don't want….I just like to do it for fun!! Here is to SHREDDING.
ALSO…..like I mentioned yesterday. If you are not interested in doing the shred, I challenge you to commit to some sort of fitness goal for the next 30 days whatever it may be. The Holiday's are right around the corner and i'm looking forward to getting in better shape instead of the other way around! Let me know what your plan is and we can help hold each other accountable!! If you just say a goal in your head no one is there to hold you accountable and it is much easier to slip up or give up…use me and your other bloggie friends to help push you a little harder over the next few months we will be your sounding bored!! I'm always here for support and encouragement!!
Do you have a plan to help keep your fitness and nutrion in check this holiday season?
Do you find yourself slackign off and doing things differently?
At Home Workout

(Gosh, I want my arms to look like that…."They will…keep at it")
THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING!!
When I got home from work yesterday I waited patiently for Dave to get home so we could workout together. When he got home he was tired as ever (worked 12 hours) and not in the mood to workout. I was a little bummed because I had already waited over 30 minutes and could have been close to done by then…but he said if I stayed home and worked out he'd hang out with my in the basement while I did it. Sounded good to me. I popped in the The Biggest Winner DVD (Full Frontal) and went to town.
I had not done one of these dvd's forever so it was really fun! Compared to crossfit they are not as hard, but it was still a great workout! Five minutes into the workout Dave came out and joined me. He decided he would feel better if he worked out, so we ended up doing it together! What a sport! We were sweating our butts off! That Jillian, she is so….EMBARASSING in these dvd's. She's such a cheese ball it's almost hard to watch. Dave goofed around during the cardio segments and tried to make me laugh….It is so hard for me to not laugh when he does that stuff, but it totally messes up what I'm doing if I break down and laugh. He's a goof ball. After we were finished I had Dave take a few pictures of some of the exercises we did. When he was done, I headed out side and ended with a 1 mile run around the block! It was wonderful. A few pics…
Chest Press

One Legged Squat (oh the concentration)

French Dips (That's what she called them, but I don't)

Push Ups

Side Leg Lift with Goal Posts

Chair squats with shoulder raises

I don't know what these are called, but you start with you arms to your side and then bring them to the front
(as shown)

Those were about 1/2 of the different types of exercises we did…but it gives a good idea. Sorry the pictures are so blurry, he took them with his IPhone in the dungeon (aka basement).
I actually don't mind working out at home. I do like all the different types of equipment there are at gyms, but sometimes its kinda nice to workout at home.
When and (if) Dave and I ever move I'm not sure what we will do about the gym situation. Right now we are members of the nicest gym in the world. Maybe not in the world, but I swear it feels that way. It is fully rocked on the outside and all the inside pillars or rocked and the beams over head or huge wooden beams, like a log cabin or hotel or something really neat. The atmosphere is that of a spa. Its so lovely. The equipment is all new and each machine has its own tv. The locker rooms are another story. The floors are all slated along with the showers, which are amazing. The showers are bigger than my shower at home each with their own dressing room attached. I used to get ready there every single morning after working out and I LOVED IT. They provide, lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, q-tips, tampons, razors, hair dryers, shaving cream for men, mouth wash…EVERYTHING you can think of. I love this place.
Wanna guess how much we pay each month?….. $16 dollars! No joke! We paid a one time $150 sign on fee (together)and then we only pay $16 a month and are on a month to month contract. See why I love this place? Its high class, but super cheap! Anyhow, my point is, after living in such luxury, we aren't sure what we will do after we move. This gym will be 20 minutes away and all though I love it, it is not worth the drive. There are several gyms in the area, but they are all way more expensive and compared to Cross Roads (that's the name) and they are CRAPPY! We might make our own little workout area in the basement and just buy the things we need, but we will see how it goes! It would be fun to create a gym in our basement (it is unfinished)…notice how I keep saying "our basement"…we don't really know if we are going to get the house or not…but a girl can dream right?
I'm SUPER excited its Friday and can't wait to get off work and hang out with Dave. We, like everyone else in the world, love the weekends so much. I love spending entire days together and doing the things we love! I think we might be going to a matinee this afternoon! Any recommendations?? I hope you all have an AWESOME WEEKEND!
I plan on running 5 miles tomorrow! (Posting that I'm going to do it will motivate me to follow through) I think Dave will join me when I tell him about it!! I'm super excited!! I'll let you know how it goes!! xoxoxo
QA: (I Have quite a few…pretty please answer them, I need some feed back on this stuff!)
Do you workout at the gym or at home?
Do you feel you get as good of a workout at home as you do at the gym?
How much does your gym cost? (I want to see what is reasonable, I realize $16 is super cheap)
Have you done "The Shred"..did you like it?
Have you tried PX90…did you like it?
Day 16 Crossfit
( I just made this collage for my desktop at work, I have NO pictures of Dave and I at my desk because they are all in storage. This will have to do for now!)
Yikes! This workout was not for the faint of heart. My arms, butt, stomach, legs, shoulders, calfs…and everything else is SO SORE! It was kick butt!!
Here's what we did:
3 Rounds
200M (.13 miles) run holding medicine ball
Nat: 10lbs Dave: 20lbs
50 Air Squats
50 Push Ups
50 Sit-ups
Holy mother of America. My arms were burning so bad! The first set I did all 50 full push ups. The next set I did all 40 with 10 knee push ups and the last set I did 30 full and 20 knee push ups. I could barley walk because swinging my arms took too much effort! WOOW EE!! The workout took about 30 minutes. We spent about 5 or 10 minutes after wards working on my running form. Dave gave me some pointers and watched me run for a bit. I think I'm getting it. Funny thing is I never knew I was running funny, I never remember learning how to run I just did it and thought I was doing it right. There is SO much about form that I never even thought about! I'm excited to continue to get better and see how and if it helps my back pain! This week I'm going to run again and try it out!
QA: Do you do the same workouts or routine every day/week/month. How often do you switch up your workouts?
Day 15 Crossfit
Day 15 Crossfit
We have officially made it half way through our Crossfit challenge. Although its been almost 30 days since we started, today was only the 15 Crossfit workout. The workout called for a 5K run. 5k= 3.1 miles. I was super excited to do this! I hadn't run a 5k since mothers day and today felt like a perfect time. I didn't have to work and I could plan out my route ahead of time. I jumped in the car and reset the trip and drove around the neighborhood mapping out my route. When I pulled into the drive way the trip read 3.1 miles. WOO hoo! It was perfect! I hadn't had time to eat breakfast and was worried an entire meal might make me feel sick, so I opted for 1/2 of a banana. It was just right. I made sure to get a puff of my inhaler before I left and took it with me just in case. The weather was perfect. It was about 63F outside. The shade was cool, and the sun was warm! It felt so great running outside and breathing the fresh air. The streets had no traffic so I used the road as my personal path. The wind blew most of the time making my eyes water like crazy. If you didn't know better you would have thought I was crying my eyes out. I contemplated wearing a jacket before I left but I'm so glad I didn't because I heated up right away!!
The scenery was amazing! (I took these shots today)

I finished the 3 miles in 35 minutes, which means I ran about 5.7mph the entire time. I was pleased with that time because I haven't ran this long in months! I didn't focus on speed but instead I focused on form. Dave watched me run the other day at the gym and I guess I have horrible form! Who knew!! I think my form is what is causing my back pain, so it's essential that I fix it. I used my shadow to check myself and I think I did well. My back isn't bothering me so that's a good sign!
When I got home I immediately checked my time and went out back to stretch. I felt so awesome and was so glad to have ran without any breathing, back or knee problems!! Next week i'd like to try 4 or 5 miles!
(I wrote this post Friday afternoon and am just now getting around to posting it!!)
Day 14 Crossfit

Yesterdays workout was not an easy one. I"m not sure if it was because I'm still not feeling 100% of just because it was super hard. Either way it kicked my bum! I didn't work out Tuesday or Wednesday because I've been sick, and yesterday was probably the worst day I've ever had at work! I was covering for 2 other people and my own work load (which isn't usually bad, but yesterday it was crazy). I was CRAZY busy all day long. People were driving me crazy. There is this guy at work that drives me crazy and always bosses me around and just bugs the crap out of me..well at one point in the day I was on the phone, talking to someone in person and holding with someone on my cell phone, he walked up to my desk and actually went to ask me a question, I nicely looked at him and said "GO AWAY"…he scurried off like a little girl.
It made me feel better and me and the lady at my desk got a good laugh at it! ANYHOW……my point to all of this was I was more than excited to get to the gym and shake my day off!
Here is what we did:
3 Rounds
Pull Ups
(assisted)
Dips
(assisted)
Sit Ups
(decline bench)
Jump Rope (100)
Burpees (15 every round)
1st round- 10
2nd round- 20
3rd round- 30
On the last round of burbpees it was like I was in another dimension. I was so out of it and so tired but I pushed through with no stopping. When I finished I collapsed on the floor (by choice) and could not move. YIKES! It was hard core. I think having a two day leave and being a little sick made it 100 times harder…BUT once I came back to earth and caught my breath I felt great! The workout with out stretching took about 23 minutes. We stretched and headed home!
Thanks for all your nice comments about cutting my hair! I am super excited to get it done! (it's my day off so i'm home in bed writing this post…I slept from 9:30pm-8:45…heck ya).I'm off to run 5k today, and since I don't have a monitor, I'll go drive around and track the distance and then come back and run it. It shall be fun! After the 5k I am going to shower and do some things around the house and then go get my hair cut! WOO HOO! I"m seriously excited…only a tiny bit nervous, but that's normal right!?
Thanks again everyone for your help with Project Feed Me. Don't stop asking your family and friends if they are signed up! Sometimes it takes a little nudging on our part!! I am going to buy my items for week two tonight!! Can't wait to show you!
Plans tonight?….. Movie, dinner….haunted house??? (This is what I want to do) We'll see what happens!!
Have a lovely day!
QA: Do your workouts kill you the day after returning from being sick or a long break??
ps…the picture of my eye has no relevance to this post, I was just looking through some pictures and thought it was cool. Dave took that picture of my eye on our first date. weird? na, thats just him.
Day 12 Crossfit
This picture explains how I felt after I left the gym yesterday. I was POOPED! Holy moly, the workout kicked my butt….(not hard enough to take away my stupid butt muscle twitch though). I had my inhaler so things were good in that department, but my muscles were shot by the end. My legs were shaking so bad on the last two reps I couldn't believe it!
Here's what we did:
As Many Reps Possible in 20 min
5 Burpees
10 Knees Touch Elbows (KTE)
15 Box Jumps
That was it. I ended up doing 9 reps and Dave ended with 10. That means I did 45 burpees, 90 KTE's, and 135 box jumps in 20 minutes. That is a lot of stuff. I think it was harder for me to do the box jumps because I am much shorter than Dave, and his legs are much bouncier! It looked like he was jumping on a trampoline when he did his….it was kinda funny!
We did a 5 minute warm up running at 5.0, so with the warm up the workout was 25 minutes. We stretched for another 10 minutes and then went home. We opted out on ABS since we had each done almost 100 KTE"s. I'm just waiting for my stomach to start hurting today…it is usually a delayed reaction with my stomach muscles.
I'm not sure what we are doing about Today's workout. We are headed to SLC right after work and I don't know if we are going to be able to fit it in. We might have to skip today…..(GASP). In the past this would have ruined my day. I would have felt really guilty and probably ate unhealthy…I'm so glad this is not the case anymore. It is not the end of the world if I skip today to spend quality time with my husband. What is more important, obsessing about exercise and letting it interfere with life and relationships so that I can one day look perfect…or is it better to be realistic and remember that life is not about how we look, but who we are and what we do? DUH!
I'm so thankful for what I've learned and where I've come from. If I hadn't experienced the bad, I would never be able to appreciate little things like I do now. I am so thankful for so many things! Day 11 Crossfit

Good Morning! I want to thank all of you who have been so supportive and willing to help with Project Feed Me. There has been such a great response! Wonderful people from all over the country and across the sea are reaching out to help do their part! There are millions out there praying for help. The more people that get involved with Project Feed Me the more prayers that will be answered. If you haven't already PLEASE register for Project Feed Me. It only takes 30 seconds but is very important. By registering you are helping me keep track of who is participating. This will help me in tracking the project and its success. It is helpful in setting goals and determining the overall outcome of the project. It will also help others get excited and involved. So again, if you plan on participating, PLEASE take a few moments and register! It may take me a bit to get your names up on the PFM Members tab of my site, but I will get you up there! Also, if you are willing please use your resources, IE blog posts, twitter, Facebook…etc to get the word out. We have the capability to do GREAT things with little effort on our parts!! Thanks again for your support and participation!!
Crossift
OK peeps…on to Crossfit!! We took a rest day yesterday, which was much needed physically as well as mentally. I was slammed yesterday with Project Feed Me stuff so it was great to be able to take the day off. Plus, my body was tired. I feel much better today….HOWEVER I have a butt twitch. Ha! Seriously though. There is a muscle in my butt that won't stop twitching. It is driving me crazy. It twitches every 30 seconds or so and makes me want to scream!! It has been doing it for almost 4 days now! I feel like I have a case of the never ending hiccups…except the hiccups are in my butt! Does anyone have ANY suggestions on how to make this stop? I've had twitches before on my arm and on my eye lid, but never for this long, and never so annoying!! PLEASE HELP!!
Dave helped me remember my inhaler for Tuesdays workout and it did me good! I was really able to push it and work hard. I could breath too, which is always a bonus!! Since my workout on Monday was a bit disappointing I wanted to make sure this workout was kick butt….and it was!!

We finished our last run at a sprint. I was ran at 9.5 and Dave at 12. WEWWW EEEY!! It was tough work. But awesome! I pushed myself so hard. Lifted heavy weights, I didn't back down, I ran hard and fast (for me) and after the workout I felt great! We ended with the following abs:
1 Minute front plank
1 Minute Right and Left Plank
30 Pulses up with medicine ball (6lbs)
30 leg lifts
Our stomachs were burning!! We took some serious time to stretch and cool down and then headed home. The entire workout abs and stretching included was about an hour. The lifting and running portion was only about 35 minutes believe it or not!! IT WAS A GREAT WORKOUT! I felt awesome!
GREAT NEW!! When we got home I made taco salads…and Dave ate his first entire salad. I didn't make it with any modifications, he ate what I ate. I don't think I've mentioned this, but Dave HATES ,H… A …T …E …S… any type of veggie. He has a hard time even smelling them. Lately he has been working to incorporate them into his diet to try and be more healthy, and on Tuesday night he ate his VERY FIRST salad. He has tried bites before here and there, but this was his first main course salad meal! I was so proud of him. I tried to take his picture to post it but he declined.
Today we are going to do another Killer workout that I'm super excited about! We are going to be doing a lot of dips (which I hate) but I really want to build my triceps to look nice and toned, so these are key!!
Thank you again everyone for your support with Project Feed Me. It is so touching to know how many people out there want to help and are willing to give service! Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!
